I believe it is important to prepare for your birth. During pregnancy you need to eat nutritiously, exercise outdoors regularly, take birth classes, and gather the evidence-based information necessary to create a birth plan that is right for you. This preparation will improve your ability and your confidence to achieve the birth you desire.

I believe it is essential to set your intention on how you want to birth your baby. When supported by your partner and doula who respect your choices, help you advocate for yourself, and comfort and empower you throughout the process, your odds of manifesting your intention will increase.

I believe every woman arrives on birth’s doorstep with her own unique needs, concerns, instincts and desires. As her doula, the support I provide during pregnancy and labor and birth, must be individualized to match who she is and how she wants to bring her baby into the world.  As her doula, my role is to create the space for her and her partner to trust in their innate and intuitive abilities.

I believe a healthy client/doula relationship comes down to trust. You can trust that I will be a non-judgmental, steady, knowledgeable, nurturing and a continuous presence for the entirety of your labor and birth.

I believe women have incredible will power and the strength to dig deep when needed. Birth has the power to transform the mother more than anything she has yet encountered and she needs to honor her body and her baby as they work in unison with her. Birth is but a tiny fraction of a woman’s life experience and yet its impact on her early days of mothering in feeling confident, nurtured, respected, and at peace can not be underestimated. Coming away from her birth feeling satisfied will best ready her to rise to the occasion of caring for her newborn.

I believe every woman in labor deserves to be cared for unconditionally. At my very core, I am a nurturer. The joy I derive from nurturing others is what has guided my life. For me, to support and care for others is purely intuitive.
